Toddler Week 6 Activities

A. Free Play (Mix Group)

Total Time 20 Min.

Children will play outdoors. Teacher will monitor and observe their activities and play. It will be indoor play time in case of the rainy season or any other circumstances. Teacher will not guide them with what to play with and how to play. She will take care of safety and causations. She can ask to make a line or wait for turn to come.

(10 min.)Tell the children that all the activities and games for the day/week will be about ‘body parts’. Engage the children in a conversation and ask questions such as –

  • Who has taken a bath in the morning?
  • Do you use soap?
  • What did you eat in the morning?
  • How do we clap?
  • Which part of the body do we use for running?
  • How do you brush your teeth?
  • What do we do with our eyes?
  • Talk about the external parts of the body and what each part can
  • Encourage children to show you the external body parts as you talk/sing about them.

F. Planned/Structured Game (Fine / Gross)

Total Time 15 Min.

The teacher will keep objects that they see around them of four colours on the table so that the children can see.

Then she will pick up object of one colour and say its name. Like yellow banana, then the children will repeat yellow banana, red apple, blue bag, green leaf.

Then again, she will ask which colour is this, the children will say yellow, blue, red, green respectively.

Material required: Blocks of red, yellow, green and blue colours.

After identification, the teacher will ask the children to get objects of red colour from the classroom and keep them near the respective colour block.

Note: The teacher will show only 3 flashcards and then add two more words the next day.

Materials required: Flash card of the words mentioned above.

Note: While showing the flashcards of objects teacher should focus only on the identification of the object and vocabulary building. At this stage focus should not be on the name of the letter and spellings.

The teacher will ask the children to get objects of blue colour from the classroom and keep them near the respective colour block.

Show and Tell – Color of object around

The teacher will place the objects of red, blue, yellow and green on the table. She will show the object to the children and ask them to identify the colour as well as the object. For e.g., a red block, a blue chalk, a yellow crayon, a green chair etc.

The images and objects mentioned are just for reference purpose. The teacher may take any object from the class.

The teacher will ask the children to get objects of green colour from the classroom and keep them near the respective colour block.

Obstacle Path:

The teacher will place obstacles – hoopla hoops on the floor at some distance. The child will step inside the hoop, then walk to the hoop.

Materials required: 3 to 5 hoopla hoops

HW Activity Book -Hand and Foot print

The parents will make their child do foot prints and hand prints on a chart paper. They will stick the child’s photo in the middle of the prints as shown below. The same should be sent to school on the following day.
